Obligatory First Post

by Brian Ensink 13. September 2008 00:58

There are countless blogs out there about practically every topic in software development.  Everything from small bits of general advice to in depth articles on highly specialized topics. Collectively they prove to be an invaluable resource for many developers around the world -- and to me.

So why would I start my own? Mostly this blog is just a little experiment for myself with the simple goal of continuing to improve as a professional software developer. But I also want to share some of my own experience and ideas and this is a great outlet to do exactly that. Hopefully I will learn something while I struggle to articulate myself.

My posts will mostly deal with topics in software development and computing in general. I am a software developer currently writing desktop applications and have experience with C++ and MFC but I've written C# and .NET code almost exclusively for the past several years.

About the author

I am currently a .NET developer and really enjoy the platform.  .NET seems to be able to take the developer whereever he/she wants to go.  To the desktop, to the web, to a database, etc.  At my day job I write desktop apps but I also like to toy with other tech as I have time.
